Product Description

The Draw Wall Clock Red, designed by Kazuya Koike, explores the relationship between typography and time. The clock features a unique dial created from expressive lines that gradually form recognizable numerals only within the layout of the clock.

During the design process, Koike discovered that not every typeface works naturally in a clock format. Many fonts require adjustments to function properly on a dial. For this reason, the search for the ideal typeface became a central part of the design.

The final design was discovered through experimentation—adding and removing lines until the shapes suggested numbers while remaining abstract. As a result, the clock presents a dynamic balance between graphic lines and readable time markers.

This subtle interplay gives the clock personality and character while maintaining a minimalist appearance that complements modern interiors.
