The SUBU x Yinka Ilori for MoMA – Kola Nuts (Obi) slippers combine functional winter comfort with bold contemporary design. This collaboration features London-based artist Yinka Ilori’s vibrant patterns inspired by British and Nigerian heritage.
Designed for autumn and winter wear, SUBU slippers provide down-like warmth while remaining lightweight. The outer fabric is treated for water resistance, and the brushed inner lining enhances comfort. A four-layer insole structure delivers cushioning and a secure fit around the foot.
The “Kola Nuts (Obi)” pattern pays tribute to the kola nut, an important cultural symbol in West Africa. Embroidery of Yinka Ilori’s name and the MoMA logo appears on the heel.
