The protagonist, Arisa, is a middle school student navigating everyday life with her friends while facing the pressures of a society governed by rigid classifications and social expectations. During a school trip to a museum, she meets an announcer named Miyu and her husband Shirai, a physician. Through these encounters, Arisa begins to experience a lifestyle very different from the modest life she shares with her father.

Author

Haruka Tono (遠野遥)
Born in 1991. Graduated from Keio University Faculty of Law. Tono debuted after winning the Bungei Prize in 2019 for Kairyo. In 2020, the novel Hakyoku received the Akutagawa Prize. Other works include Kyoiku and Fuyu.
